Landemole Knock (Jetty Knock)

your interface for the North Sea offshore region

The debate about the European turnaround in energy policy has given fresh impetus to the demand for resource-friendly power generation. In northern Germany this is presenting the offshore industry with new challenges. Wind farms are being built and commissioned in the open sea – and this requires a good infrastructure on the East Frisian coast. Storage and supply facilities, ship berths and other features such as land facilities for the crews are now planned. The AG "EMS" Group is utilizing and combining regional strengths and competences so as to supply its clients with the best possible flexibility and quality in this important and geographically exposed location.

We provide one-stop service for your offshore project!

How you benefit from this location

  • Outstanding strategic position with respect to the North Sea offshore wind farms
  • tide-independent location – accessible 24/7
  • Individual development options on both the offshore and land sides
  • Savings in time and money (shorter routes, no locks, fuel savings)

Welcome to Port Knock

The Landemole Knock (Knock Jetty) is located on the Rysumer Nacken, a spoil area just outside the seaport town of Emden, right on the North Sea and with developable agricultural land. Its outstanding position in the immediate vicinity of the River Ems navigable channel and its technical profile make it the ideal interface between the mainland and the North Sea offshore region.

The Rysumer Nacken development area, some 480 ha in size, provides ideal conditions for the construction of offshore port and industry facilities. Crews and materials can be transported from here to existing and planned wind farms, storage facilities for wind farm components can be created and technical units can be pre-assembled.

The location can be developed in line with client specifications, and the experienced team of the AG “EMS” Group will be happy to provide assistance. Utilize the potential of “Port Knock” with its ideal infrastructure and supplementary logistic services as the hub for your projects.

Make our location the base for your project!

A solid future

„One of the secrets of our success is to be ready when required. Port Knock, operated by AG "EMS", is set to provide the first, vital impetus for the development of the Rysumer Nacken as a location for services. The upcoming challenges in the offshore wind sector mean that the rest will follow automatically, because innovative and efficient port locations close to the wind farm sites are quite simply a necessity.“

Knut Gerdes, CEO of EMS Maritime Offshore GmbH

Further development of the location

  • Extension of existing buildings including offices, sanitary facilities and storage space very close to the jetty
  • Modernization of the entire jetty, including installation of supply lines (lighting, power, water,...)
  • Installation of a tide-independent CTV jetty, loading and waste disposal
  • Creation of a line of mooring posts for simultaneous handling of several units
  • Surface extension
  • Ro-Ro link-span
